Atty. Marquez is a member of the Philippine Bar and graduated Juris Doctor, minor on Litigation and Dispute Resolution from Ateneo de Manila University School of Law on a full scholarship. He likewise holds a Bachelor of Science – Legal Management minor in Literature from the same university on a full scholarship as well. He spent his internship at the Chief Justice Claudio Teehankee Center for the Rule of Law where he worked on Constitutional Law Reform, Rule of Law and Legal Theory, International Law, Economic and Developmental Law, Legal History and other special law and policy issues.
Atty. Marquez worked at the Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) where he was conferred the Best Pleader Award. He held the position of Associate Solicitor III and represented the government in landmark cases and arbitration proceedings. He studied International Investment Treaties and Investor-State Arbitration at the International Law Institute at Georgetown, Washington D.C. He also studied International Law at the Centre for International Law, National University of Singapore. Recently, Atty. Marquez co-authored a book entitled Moral Governance: An Introduction to Bangsamoro Organic Law.
While currently serving as head legal counsel of a tech company, Atty. Marquez also handles the Firm’s civil and criminal litigation. He likewise concurrently serves as a legislative consultant for an LGU in Metro Manila.
